Use final outdoor distances
The reviewed home-garden system uses eighteen inches between plants and thirty to thirty-six inches between rows. The editable example keeps eighteen inches within rows and chooses thirty-six inches between them.
Choose the row direction first
Rotate the proposed rows to see which arrangement gives useful access. A narrow bed may work as one row even if a smaller row distance technically permits more points. Keep paths and working space out of the area assigned to plants.
Do not confuse seedlings with plants
The same growing guide discusses close spacing for young seedlings indoors. Those nursery measurements are not the outdoor layout preset. Save a different cultivar spacing only after reviewing instructions for the final stand.

Outdoor rows
Use the final outdoor row spacing, not the close spacing of seedlings in trays.
Source range: 18–18 in between plants; 30–36 in between rows.
This example selects distances within the cited range. Change them for a reviewed variety or method and retain the override in your plan.
Questions growers ask
Why is the row distance larger than the plant distance?
The selected source describes plants along outdoor rows, with a wider distance between those rows. Replacing both values with the plant distance creates a different arrangement.
