Find the right guide

For an unexpected date, begin with Frost dates and planting windows. Check the year, selected action, source conditions, and any manual edit. For a layout count, use Beds, containers and spacing to check dimensions, units, and the edge allowance.

For a failed save or import, open Save, back up and import a plan. Keep the current page and original backup file until you have another copy. If a download does not look right, the export guide explains the purpose and limits of each format.

Record a problem clearly

For a problem report, include the page, what you entered, what happened, and what you expected. A small reproducible example is more useful than an entire private plan.

• The crop, action, dates, units, or spacing involved.
• The exact error message, if one appeared.
• The browser and whether the problem repeats with the same inputs.
• For a source question, the original source link and the relevant method or passage.

Protect your notes

Do not include personal garden notes, addresses, or unrelated information in a screenshot you intend to share. A downloaded JSON file can contain the full plan, not just the visible error. Keep the original safely and make a minimal example when possible.

SowWindow is a planning tool and does not offer individual horticultural consultations. Read the crop’s original sources and seek a relevant local gardening or extension resource when your question depends on local conditions. The date and quantity calculators cannot diagnose a plant or assess the weather in your garden.
