Schedule the intended root crop
The selected chart supplies a fourteen-day interval for turnips. Choose spacing for the roots you intend to retain, and record a different goal if growing leaves alone. A dense greens crop is not automatically the same layout.
An example approaching autumn
With first frost entered as October 15, 2027, the six-week-before boundary is September 3. A user start of August 6 produces August 6, August 20 and September 3. Each date is a sowing event, with no promised maturity date attached.
Check the next bed section
A new batch needs suitable soil and available space. If the earlier turnips still occupy the area, move the next batch to a reserved section or revise the plan. Keep a local override visible rather than changing the reviewed source values.
Questions growers ask
Can I reuse the turnip interval for rutabagas?
This record does not establish that. Rutabagas have a different growth and spacing context and need a separately reviewed record.
Sources and conditions
These sources describe particular climates and growing methods. Use the conditions alongside the numbers.
General intervals under standard growing practices. Crop purpose and protected-cover exceptions matter; these are not harvest guarantees.
Turnip-specific spring timing and detailed spacing are used. Rutabaga spacing and season requirements are excluded.
